Nuria Schettino González

Nuria Schettino González is a director and writer based in the Bay Area and Los Angeles, California. Originally from Mexico City, Mexico, the 23-year-old's work is grounded in the multicultural perspectives she has cultivated while living in four countries. Since immigrating to California at age twelve, Nuria has dedicated herself to storytelling, creating narrative and documentary shorts in Spanish, English, and bilingual formats. Her films explore themes of cross-cultural identity, immigration, environmentalism, and heritage, challenging stereotypes and delving into the histories of the places she has called home.

Nuria graduated with honors from Chapman University in 2024, earning a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Film Production with an emphasis in Directing from the Dodge College of Film and Media Arts. Alongside her film studies, she attained minors in Environmental Science and Latinx & Latin American Studies, reflecting her interdisciplinary commitment to artistic and educational synergy for advocacy.​
She also currently works in broadcast television, writing news for one of the nation’s leading Spanish-language networks and serving the Bay Area’s Latino community through impactful storytelling.
A passionate environmentalist, Nuria's love for the natural world shines through in her professional and personal pursuits, which include hiking, camping, and nature photography. She seamlessly integrates this passion into her filmmaking, using her art to engage audiences on critical issues of social and environmental justice.
